The UPEI Faculty Association represents and advances the interests of over 400 members of our academic community.
Certified under the PEI Labour Act as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for academic staff members in 2001, the Association actually has a longer history at UPEI, dating to the founding of the institution in 1969. Fifty years strong and steeped in a half century of solidarity, the FA now represents members in two bargaining units, BU#1 (faculty members, librarians, sessional instructors and clinical nursing instructors) and BU #2 (clinical veterinary professionals).
The UPEIFA is a member of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), the CAUT Defence Fund, the National Union of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (NUCAUT), and the Prince Edward Island Federation of Labour.
